A new term has been coined to describe rich entrepreneurs and executives who strive to look like starving artists. The word is Poorgeoisie and according to the Wall Street Journal, the social class has been with us for years. What has changed is that many of them no longer have to pretend to be poor. On the other side of the spectrum are the new entrepreneurs who are launching home-based Internet marketing businesses and who are creating massive wealth in the process. These folks have no reason to pretend that they are poor and are in fact quite proud of their income and their accomplishments.

Motorola’s prototype for the first cellular phone — descriptively called “the brick” because of its appearance — dates back to 1973. Of course the inventor of the phone, John F. Mitchell, had no idea that by 1998 wireless products would account for almost 70% of the company’s revenue. The same holds true for the Internet. In the early 90s, marketing online was yet to happen. Today, with the advent of Web 2.0 technologies, the Internet is the world’s most dynamic marketplace. Internet millionaires are being created every day, and this trend will only continue to pick up momentum.

Many people say that the internet is the way of the future, but the truth is that it is the way of now. The number of businesses online continues to grow every single day as more and more people realize how many great opportunities are available and how it’s actually possible to run a successful business from home.

With so many people taking advantage of a worldwide platform, it’s important to keep your business at the frontline by always utilizing the latest internet technologies and marketing strategies. Currently, the tools that have emerged as part of the onset of Web 2.0 can play a significant role in the success of your online business.

The theory behind Web 2.0 is interactivity. The more customers can interact with your business the better because this helps to provide the personal experience that has been missing from internet businesses in the past.

Video sharing has become a popular way to market businesses. Many consumers would prefer to watch a video about what you have to offer than to read lengthy paragraphs. You can also make these videos fun and creative to catch people`s attention and don’t stop at posting them on your homepage; distribute them to video sharing sites like YouTube to draw people back to your site.

Blogging has been around for a while now, but has become a tried and tested method of driving traffic back to your business site. Several companies set up blogs attached to their websites to keep customers interested and informed with the latest industry news. Blogs are great because they are constantly updated so they will receive more hits in search engine results and they will help you to gain the trust of potential clients by providing knowledgeable insight. They also offer the interactive feature of enabling readers to comment on posts and express their views and opinions.

Social networking sites are amongst the most interactive and you can create business pages on sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and MySpace. On these you can share links, messages, photos, videos, comments and conversations. By simply updating your status with new information about your business you can steal the attention of hundreds.

There are so many great and cost effective ways of putting your business out there and consumers look for these interactive features. So take advantage and watch your business excel.
